K-12 Programs

Student Matinees present music, dance and theatre in combination with arts-integrated lesson plans and professional development for educators. With a focus on Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and its families, we provide programming which is responsive to the interests and curriculum goals of our local schools.
Transportation scholarships are available to ensure that students in the district have access to a live performing arts experience. Contact us at 310.434.3560 for more information about how to arrange your school’s trip to BroadStage!
All Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District schools are encouraged to email education@broadstage.org to receive an application.

BroadStage Learning Guides are online and available for families, students, educators and parents to incorporate dance, theater and music into their classrooms or homes in inventive and experiential ways. Enjoy learning about the performance you might be preparing to see at The Broad Stage or dive into a new genre, culture or arts integrated lesson and enhance your knowledge and understanding of the artist's work.
The K-12 Resources page takes you to further areas of exploration, as well as providing relevant California State Standards for educators.

The Teacher/Artist Collaborative pairs classroom teachers and artists from BroadStage to co-create Study Guides and deliver Professional Development Workshops to K-12 educators.

Educators participate in Professional Development Workshops to prepare for each Student Matinee offered during BroadStage season. Teachers explore arts-integrated lesson plans and hone new techniques to replicate in their classrooms. Anchored in California State Standards, workshops are facilitated by members of the Teacher/Artist Collaborative.
